OUR STORY

In the beginning, there were three of us—my two sons and me.
For years, I searched for a school that would honor their individuality, nurture intrinsic motivation, and make learning joyful; a place that encourages curiosity and the courage to ask questions. I wanted an education that connects knowledge with understanding, allows children to make mistakes, and treats them with respect—without unnecessary pressure. When I couldn't find such a place, I decided to create it myself.

We left the traditional system and forged our own path. From day one, I saw how the desire to understand, to learn, and to grow became part of our daily life. We spent hours exploring new ideas, shared responsibilities around the household, and supported each other. What began as uncertainty—whether I could balance life as a single mother, running a business, and teaching my two young children at home—turned into a family that understands what it means to take responsibility for your own life.

My sons are living proof that freedom and responsibility are not empty words. They are perceptive, humble, and grateful, yet deeply motivated to create their own world. They speak six languages, understand markets and finances, and can take care of the household.

Honza has a deep understanding of geopolitics, current events, history, and geography—at a university level. He follows the U.S. stock markets, runs his own business, learns to invest, and draws inspiration from successful entrepreneurs. He plays an active role in Libera Nova—helping with marketing, administration, meetings, problem-solving, and bringing fresh ideas.

Mark is a responsible teenager and an outstanding athlete. He practices parkour, plays the piano, cooks, creates social media content, and edits videos. He is a loyal friend, has a wide circle of friends, and most importantly, he loves himself. Two years ago, he wanted a Border Collie—a demanding breed that requires a lot of care and attention. Even though I hesitated, he proved he could handle it. Caring for the dog helped him grow, and in my eyes, his responsibility and love for animals are qualities many adults could learn from.

Over time, other families who shared our values joined us. Libera Nova has become a place where children grow without grades, with trust and joy. Every day, I see children develop—not just in knowledge, but as human beings. Despite all challenges, I know this work matters.

Schools don't have to suppress a child's nature—they should nurture it. And that's exactly what we strive to do every day—for my sons and for the dozens of other children who now share the same sense of freedom, responsibility, and joy in learning.
